15th October: In the 2024 League of Legends World Championship, Round D9, G2 suffered a 1-2 defeat against BLG and were knocked out of the Swiss round. In a post-match interview, Broken Blade discussed the decisive team fight around the Elder Dragon in the third game. The conversation went as follows:
Q: In the third game, you chose to start the Elder Dragon. Was this decision the most fatal one?
Broken Blade: At the time, we thought the enemy didn't have TP, but they did. We lost the team fight because of that.
In hindsight, that decision wasn't executed properly and it ended up being a gift for the enemy. If Renekton had TP, we shouldn't have initiated the fight like that. But when you make untimely moves, these things happen. Earlier, when our Ryze ulted in front of them, we believed that BLG didn't have TP.
