Nottingham Forest have announced an exciting redevelopment of their training grounds, with significant investment from the club's owner, Evangelos Marinakis. Throughout the summer, the club undertook a comprehensive renovation plan, not only improving their home facilities but also completely revamping the Nigel Doughty Academy training base.
One of the biggest investments in this project is the creation of a brand-new, state-of-the-art 405 square meter gymnasium, therapy rooms, and rehabilitation facilities, all aimed at enhancing player performance, strength, conditioning, and recovery. The refurbishment of the changing rooms has also been completed, now featuring a brand-new sauna, ice baths, and hot tubs for optimal muscle recovery. The renovated dining area provides the club's chefs and nutritionists with a new high-quality kitchen, as well as an on-site cooking station, expanded seating area, and coffee facilities.
A new relaxation area, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the training ground, extends to the back of the building, housing a leisure lounge, pool table, gaming area, and table tennis equipment. The new rest area within the training ground also improves communication between players and staff, enhancing one-on-one training and performance assessment meetings.
Upstairs in the academy, the offices have also been refurbished and expanded, including a new conference room, impressive meeting spaces, and a video analysis room. The previous renovation work completed before the summer also includes two new hybrid pitches, which have the same grass quality as the City Ground.
